NBI Academy 5-Week Live Program 2025

Want to make the case for building with nature? The NBI Academy’s 5-week live program is designed to equip policy-makers, infrastructure planners, investors, and other stakeholders with practical tools to assess the economic performance, co-benefits, and financing potential of Nature-Based Infrastructure (NBI), in comparison to conventional “grey” infrastructure.

Through a combination of online materials, real-world case studies, and live Zoom sessions, participants will explore how NBI can deliver resilient, sustainable infrastructure services in response to accelerating climate risks. The sessions are interactive, allowing you to engage with experts, collaborate with peers around the world, and apply the tools and models in real time.

Sessions take place every Tuesday from 28 October to 25 November 2025. Each session runs for two hours on Zoom:

Washington DC, USA – 09:00 / 10:00 EDT
Geneva, Switzerland – 15:00 CET
New Delhi, India – 19:30 IST

Over the course of the program, you will learn to:

• Evaluate how NBI supports climate adaptation and sustainable development
• Compare NBI with grey infrastructure across economic, environmental, and social dimensions
• Apply systems thinking and spatial modelling tools to infrastructure planning
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses with Excel models and interpret the results
• Explore innovative financing solutions for NBI
• Draw lessons from real-world case studies across diverse geographies

The program is free of charge, and participants will receive a certificate.
