The Municipal Infrastructure Forum (MIF) is a quarterly forum platform formed to review, discuss and document barriers, opportunities and challenges related to infrastructure procurement and implementation. The forum held on November 2nd had several presenters, focusing on capacity building and knowledge sharing, development contributions and supply chain management for infrastructure. Furthermore, the IISD (representing the Nature-based Infrastructure Global Resource Centre) presented the approach used for the Hartenbos estuary project that is currently ongoing. The presentation focused on an introduction to the SAVi methodology and a brief overview of the application envisaged for the analysis of estuary water quality changes in face of different wastewater treatment technologies.
IISD colleagues were invited to present at the MIF by the Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning of the Western Cape Government.
The NBI Global Resource Centre aims to bring together key partners to establish a business case for Nature-Based Infrastructure (NBI).
