The UrbanShift Kigali City Academy workshop was organized by the World Resources Institute and C40 Cities in cooperation with the Rwandan government, the city of Kigali, the World Bank, and the UN Development Program. This event was held from May 17 to 19 in Kigali, Rwanda, and welcomed approximately 75 participants, mostly from Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Morocco, with a mix of national and city-level representatives. Two parallel training tracks were offered, one about integrated climate action planning and the other focused on nature-based solutions (NbS).
IISD’s Ronja Bechauf presented in two sessions on NbS: one on green public procurement for NbS and another on making the case for NbS through integrated cost-benefit analyses.
The NBI Global Resource Centre aims to bring together key partners to establish a business case for Nature-Based Infrastructure (NBI).
